Join Our Classes

At Vertical Secrets, we offer a diverse range of classes tailored to various skill levels and interests. Whether you’re completely new to pole dance fitness or you’ve been dancing around the pole for years, you’ll find the perfect class to challenge and inspire you. For more information on our different classes, please read below.

Beginners
In these classes you are introduced to your new dance partner, the POLE. You will learn basic spins, transitional moves and pole tricks such as climbing. You will build your strength and utilize your muscles to develop core and upper body strength.

Tricks & spins for this level include: basic spins, climbing up and down the pole, pole stands, basic pole sits and floor work. These moves will help to condition your body so that you are prepared for stronger beginner pole moves.

You will also work on stronger pole tricks such as Plank, hood ornament, stargazer, more complicated sits, such as a wrist sit and most upright pole tricks. You will also learn some conditioning exercises to prepare you for inverted pole moves.

Pre-Intermediate
In this level you will be working on doing basic upside down moves and learn how to link moves together to create fun combinations.

You will learn how to perfect your upside down moves while learning new demanding moves such hands-free pole tricks and combination spin techniques.

Tricks to be perfected in this level are basic inverted pole tricks such as Inverted Crucifix, Gemini (outside leg hang) and Scorpio (Inside leg hang).

You will also be prepared and conditioned for shoulder mount grip.

Intermediate
In this level you will learn to do more pole tricks and continue to build on what you have learned. Here is where you will be working on more intermediate moves and learn how to link moves together.

Compulsory moves to master for this level include: Inverted Crucifix, Gemini (outside leg hang), Scorpio (Inside leg hang). Students should be fully comfortable in these moves.

Intermediate and Advanced
These classes are designed for those students that have mastered all the levels or have advanced pole experience. In this class, students will continue to maintain their pole skills, strength while improving their endurance and flexibility.

You will further learn more advanced tricks which include: handspring variations, etc.

Compulsory tricks for this level are shoulder mounts from floor and mid-air inverts, Gemini (outside leg hang) and Scorpio (Inside leg hang).

All Levels

In these classes all levels of ability on the pole are welcome. Our instructors will work with you and train you at your level. You will learn basic spins, transitional moves and pole tricks appropriate to your level.

You will also utilize your muscles to develop greater core and upper body strength.

Flexability-in-Classes

Stretch & Flex

During these classes, you will learn safe and effective methods to help you improve your flexibility. It will help your muscles and joints feel less stiff and help you gain a better understanding of the importance and benefits of stretching for everyday activities.

Flexibility is important both for functionality and pole dancing to prevent injury and ensure full range of motions during Pole dancing and everyday activities.

Pole flow

In this class we learn how to link movements, spins and tricks together to create a routine that flows on and around the pole. You will improve your range of motion and body awareness as well as greatly improve flexibility and build strength and have fun at the same time. You will learn more contemporary flow spins and floorwork.

Students of all levels are welcome.

Heels/socks and knee pads are required for this class.

Beginner and advanced

Heels Classes

Build your confidence and sensuality in this class. These classes are a safe and welcoming environment where no matter your level of pole dance skill, you can express yourself with like-minded students. You will improve your range of motion and body awareness as well as greatly improve flexibility and build strength. You will also explore more sensual flow, spins and floorwork.

Heels/socks and knee pads are required for this class.

All Levels

Adult Ballet & Barre Workouts

Learn the fundamentals of ballet and improve your posture and body lines. Learn to strengthen your feet and legs, soften the lines of your arms and hands. Incorporate the fundamentals of ballet into your pole journey to improve your overall performance on and off the pole.

Lyra (Aerial Hoop)

Discover the thrill of performing stunning tricks on an aerial hoop in our Lyra class. Suitable for all levels, this class will guide you through the graceful art of Lyra, where you'll learn to master spins, poses, and sequences high above the ground. Build strength, flexibility, and balance as you progress through each session, developing both your physical capabilities and artistic expression.

Whether you're a beginner or have experience, our expert instructors will ensure you reach new heights, transforming your aerial ambitions into breathtaking reality.

Studio Workshops

At Vertical Secrets Pole Dance Studio, we offer a new workshop each month, designed to enhance your fitness journey through a blend of dance and aerial activities. These workshops cater to different interests and skill levels, providing opportunities to deepen your practice, learn new techniques, and improve your strength and flexibility. In each of these specialised sessions, we will cover everything from exciting pole tricks to creative choreography, ensuring a fun and challenging experience for everyone.

Workshop

There is no stripping involved in our pole dance fitness classes. Wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in. For our pole dance fitness class, shorts and sleeveless tops are recommended. These classes are about improving your fitness, having fun and feeling great about your body, regardless of size, shape or age. You will not be required to do anything you feel uncomfortable about.
